    🧼 Washing Instructions

Frequency: Only wash when visibly dirty or when the fabric starts absorbing water rather than shedding it.

    • Prep Work: Zip all zippers, fasten Velcro tabs, and empty all pockets. Turn the jacket inside out to protect the outer membrane.

    • Detergent: Use a mild liquid detergent or, ideally, a specialized "Tech Wash" (like Nikwax or Granger's). Avoid fabric softeners, bleach, or heavy-duty powders, as these clog the fabric pores and destroy the waterproof coating.

    • Cycle: Select a delicate or synthetic cycle with cold or lukewarm water (30°C/86°F).

    • Rinse: Run an extra rinse cycle to ensure every trace of soap is removed.

    💨 Drying & Maintenance

Heat is the enemy of waterproof gear, but a tiny bit is necessary to "reactivate" the finish.

    • Air Dry First: Hang the coat on a plastic hanger and let it air dry away from direct sunlight or radiators.

    • The "Reactivation" Trick: Once the coat is completely dry, place it in the dryer on low heat for 15–20 minutes. This gentle heat helps the DWR molecules on the 100% polyester exterior stand back up, making water bead off again.

    • Ironing: If you must iron out wrinkles, use the coolest setting (Synthetic/Nylon) and place a thin towel between the iron and the coat. Never use steam.
